OK K.O. Let's Be Heroes
I odviously have to talk about this show since it's the main reason I do animation!!! This show is about 6-11 year old boy KO, and his journey to become a hero at Gar's bodega. Working there with two teens Rad and Enid the show has them fight evil Robots from Boxmore from directly across the street and it's amazing. The show was created by Ian Jones-Quartey, you've probably seen his work in Adventure Time and the first 2 seasons of Steven Universe and he made OK KO as a pilot for Cartoon Network that started as Lakewood Plaza Turbo. The show is mostly a episodic show with story showing up in the later parts of seasons. My favorite being Dark Plaza in Season 2 but we'll get there. Season 1 is mostly for setting up the characters and is really fun! then around episode 25 is when TKO first apears and he's great. He's the kind of "inner darkness" of KO and he's foreshadowed in Face Your Fears when KO lets him out to save Gar from his fear just, casually. TKO is when it first becomes a major point of the story with Shadowy Figure showing up teaching KO how to let TKO take control of him. Later on in the season is You're In Control, where KO lets TKO out again to defeat Boxman JR, and TKO shows up more and more through the show and he's just so fun to watch since his constant state of being upset is so opposite to how KO acts normally it's so funny. Season 2 is much shorter than season 1 but it has a lot more of my favorite episodes in it so I think personally that's fine. It has a bigger focus on POINT who has only been mentioned and the focus of a few episodes prior to that. With Enid getting a whole arc about her going to POINT Prep to train to be a hero, alongside other characters like Sparko and Elodie. The POINT Prep arc is honestly one of my favorite major story arcs of the show, mostly due to the focus on Enid and Elodie who I love SO much. The season ends with the previously mentioned Dark Plaza where POINT takes over the plaza to harvest Glorbs (a power source under the plaza from the lakewood tree that Gar protects) and it's a really fun episode and I love it so much because KO, Rad, and Enid all get these sick new designs for it. Also theres a quote from the end where Gar shows up to save the day and then Carol shows up with him and Enid goes: "Oh no will Mr. Gar be able to take her out?! (Carol Shows up) Oh wait we're fine." It's amazing, there's currently no way to watch it through streaming and you can only buy it in weird amounts on youtube. But you didn't hear it from me, there's fan sites that archived the show wink wink nudge nudge OKO.FUN and a internet archive link of it. Also the OST for the show by Mint Potion on Soundcloud seems to be broken? someone archived it on google drive though so the soundtrack lives on! You can also find the final song for the show used in Lets Fight Till the End on streaming services and youtube and I reccomened listening to it it's good
My Adventures with Superman
My Adventures with Superman is a show about, well, superman, it starts from when he first started to be superman sort of, but most people know who superman is. I love this show spesificaly because of the way it plays with already established DC characters. I love it becuase it's like meeting them again for the first time, speifically the villians get changed quote a bit. I knew the normal ones like Lex and Slade and Livewire and Giganta (who I'll get to) but even lesser known villians like silver banshee, mist, and rough house,and Doctor Poison get spotlighted. And I just keep learning of new characters like Silver who apparently was a love intrest for Batman in the 70's before being killed off in a diffrent comic that never got finished. Even as I was writing this I went to the wiki to get some lesser known villian names I found out they're going to make a My Adventures with Green Lantern series focused on Jessaca Cruz who is my favorite Green Lantern but isn't very well known and it's awesome. This show plot wise is really cool too, the first season, I need to rewatch it but my favorite episode of season 1 being kiss kiss fall in portal. Due to my GOAT Mr. Mxyzptlk shows up there and it has a lot of refrences to older DC cartoons which is really cool. Also every season has one anime refrence episode title because of course and this one feels so this one is a refrence to Oruan High School host club and I litteraly screamed. Season 2 I don't remeber much from, besides Kara. Kara is great in this show because she doesn't know what's happening like 90% of the time but shes having a great time. This seasons anime refrence title is Mobile Suit Toyman and I love that for them. My Favorite episode would have to be The Death of Clark Kent. Season 3 really kicks it up a notch plot wise with crazy stuff happening constantly it's nuts, I love lex this season and he's like. bald like normal but like it's weird no since I'm so used to him having hair in this show. Give it back to him mabye. I have a tie for favorite episode this time between Guess who's slammin' dinner and Party Animal. They're both great and the finale made me SO happy I hope we get a season 4.
Suicide Squad Isekai
This Anime was pretty ok. It was really good animation and art wise and I love it a lot for that. I think the squad all look and sound good. I watch in dub so I'm not sure how the JP actors did but I'm sure they did good as well. The plot seemed like a normal Isekai but with DC elements which, fair it's what it says on the tin. I was a bit worried that they would pull something about Harley being related to the princess since they look almost identical but luckily it was just used to be like, she's a sort of Harley Parallel which I like much more. I found it really funny how Clayface knew everything about isekais and lore dumped to the cast about what isekais are. It was honestly really fun to watch him be so exited and so theater kid like, it reminded me of how he is in the Harley Quinn Show a lot. Deadshot was really entertaining to me, he's always been a personal favorite of mine becuase I think characters who are expert marksmen are really intresting. All of the squad members were super cool and I love the way they look for this anime, even the "villians" of the anime look awesome. I think Katana and Enchantress fit this style extreemely well, I litteraly saw enchantress and was so excited and shes so pretty. I loved Rat Catcher even when I first saw him he looks super cool. And also the ending song by Mori Calliope is the main reason I started to watch the show and It's so awesome. Also the intro is really good, the soundtrack is good you shoulsd listen to it.
Lazarus
I mostly started to watch it because I was in a hotel and saw ads for its finale on adult swim and when I got home I imidetly watched it. I've since watched it twice, once on my own and the second with my friend Nat since she was intrested in it. She also loved it it was so funny to watch her reactions to plot twists. Lazarus is a show about a group of people trying to stop most of the world from dying in a wild goose chase to find Dr. Skinner, a man who created a super drug that minimizes all pain called Hapna. This is after Skinner announced to the world that in 30 days everyone who had taken Hapna would die, so the group (Lazarus) goes across the globe to find him and get the cure. I think this show is super cool, it's sound track is great, I love it's intro theme, I love the music that plays durring the action and everything about the music. I remeber thinking that Axel looked a little like Spike from Cowboy Bebop and then I searched it up and realized the show was made by the same dude so that makes sense. I do love this show, and every character I feel is extreemly likeable and could have their own fans. My personal favorite though, is admitedly Axel I'm a simple woman I see a jerk dude who acts real cool and I crumble. Second favorite is Eleina though she's really close up there along side Axel. I love all of them though it's so cool. I got really excited when they went to Turkiye too since I'm half Turkish, and that baklava scene made me really hungry. But unfortunetly I can't eat a lot of baklava since my body hates me and it's so sweet. Highly reccomend it it's good. there's a lot of running around in circles while trying to find Skinner untill they do, I really hope that theres a second season in the works or some other continuation I would gladly get all of the manga if they continued it there. I would LOVE that. Espessially since the creator has said that this wouldn't be the last of them and that there are a lot more problems in the world. But apparently he's not shut down the idea of a season 2 due to budget problems which is fair. I'd highly recommend the show if you like action, a lot of people don't like it since they think nothing happens but I don't really agree with that. These characters almost see the end of the world as we know it and they came out I think better people and more connected out of it.
Miraculous Ladybug (mostly season 6)
I've been watching Miraculous since it came out and I was a wee baby. I have a lot of love for the older seasons spesifically the 6 episodes that were on a DVD I constantly watched over and over again. Which I don't have the DVD anymore since it probably got scratched beyond repair. But I remeber those episodes being the first 6 episodes of season 1 so: Stormy Weather, Bubbler, Pharaoh, Lady Wifi, Timebreaker, and Mr. Pidgeon. But the newer seasons are really where the show has been shining. Famously the show has been subject to some apsolute nonsense writing, but season 6 has gone really well and I cannot wait for season 7. I was so shocked with how Lila has been duking the heroes recently. I was watching and I was like: theres no way Lila is the little kid, or the fireman, or etc etc. Because I just didn't think of the fact she could LITTERALY SHAPESHIFT. Since before now we've been shown her dressing up and wearing wigs and outfits to disguise herself, not SHAPESHIFTING, it was so intresting. Esspecially with her turning into KIM. That was shocking, Kim was honestly the best pick for a disguise since he doesn't know whats happening most of the time and it would've been confusing. IDK I just love this season and can't wait for more I reccomend it so much you can watch it Here
